| DO NOT BUY blue wooden bullet 7.62x39mm
SG and CTD both have this for 10$/100. DO NOT BUY IT! it is corrosive and IS NOT boxer primed no matter what they tell you. The bullet is a 5 gr wooden shell and they dont have enough mass to cycle the slide on an AK or SKS. They are cheap but they are definantly not worth it. SW

This Ammo is good for people who build their own AK's. Safe. We have about 8 mags designated for our build rifles.... it works out well. AND, its not really as loud as normal ammo, so we shoot it out at our shop were we build the rifles. The neighbors think its cool as **** and they come shoot with us. :-) Fun plinking.

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | I've not had any personal experience launching grenades, but as I understand it, the projectile was mostly so the round would feed from the mag and also to provide the resistance to ensure proper ingnition of the powder. Without this resistance, complete ignition would not occur resulting in poor performance launching grenades.

I know on the M1 Garand we used a CRIMPT-CHARGE "no bullet"like a powerful blank,to propel a grenade from the launcher,at the end of the barrel.

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | The way I heard it (on another board), a lot of the com-bloc countries would just load a standard 7.62x39 round with these wooden bullets to save time and money rather than building a separate blank round. Who knows?

I've seen a barrel attachment for the Mauser rifles (Swedish, IIRC) that would shred the wooden bullet when fired so it wouldn't go down range. It was used for familiarization training, not to actually hit anything.

Rifle Grenade Cartridges, M1, M2, and M3/E1 These cartridge are used in conjunction with the M1 (for the M1903 rifle), M2 (for the M1917 rifle), and the M7 series (for the M1 rifle) grenade launchers to propel rifle grenades. The cartridge has no bullet and the mouth is crimped. The differences between the three cartridges have to do with the powder charge and the subsequent range of the launched grenade. The M3E1 also featured an extended case neck. Last edited by JoeLee; 08-01-2007 at 08:09 AM. | |
