How is Brown Bear .308 145grn FMJ? its going for $6.50 for 20 rounds? I bought 2 boxes plus shipping for around 20 bucks, the more you buy the cheaper the shipping over head. I might get around to firing it this weekend.

Prices have climbed on everything, first because they thought the left was going to be back in charge, and then rising gas prices. Get what you can, while you can. The price quoted earlier, for 800 rounds, wasn't too bad, so get as much as you can afford!

I'm still well-stocked, from when I was in Cali. I was scared they were going to outlaw ammo! I hired a former Army munitions truck driver, to drive the moving van out. It was pretty darn full!

I do the same as good 'ole Billy; buy copious quantities when I can and reload. For general short range (up to 300) stuff I tend to use either milsurp or my reloaded fired OFV milsurp (70's Pakistani boxer cases) which I have found has been pretty good. For the serious stuff I use commercial brass for my reloads.

I just recently cleaned up my old 700-.308 and was amazed how it cleaned up. After reading all the above posts I've decided to by a new press. I'll try Ebay first and/or maybe Widners or somebodys. I have a question for the .308 reloaders, years ago I used magnum primers is this recomended for .308 today.

![]() Regarding the ammo prices quoted on this thread: I find it amazing that .308 is cheaper to shoot than .223 these days. WORKS FOR ME!!!!!

If .308 brass is scarce you can neck up .243Win, or shorten and reform .30-06 and .270Win. Once you get the knack, it ain't hard!
