Good Price? Rem 115gr HP Standard Pressure

Hello,

The local Walmart is selling standard pressure 115gr Remington HP (not GS) in bulk packs of 100 for a little under $20.

Is this a good value for this ammunition? I'm trying to get stored up.

Thanks,

Josh <><

I assume your talking 9mm? What is GS?

Usually 8-9 dollars for a box of 50 in FMC can be found if you look around.

Hmmmm...HP, I just might make a check on it myself being as I'm only a mile away. I've always shot FMC in mine.

Hello,

Thanks. GS = Golden Saber.

I carry 9mm 124gr +P Bonded Golden Saber for defense and have a couple extra boxes, but they're a bit pricey at about a buck a pop. I'm looking for something I can stock up on and can also serve defensive purposes better than my lode of FMJ practice stock.

Thanks,

Josh <><

I don't have much experience with Remington. This is why I'm asking.

I'm used to GS being around $12-$15/25, but prices have begun to jump here. I've never been a big fan of Remington except for the Golden Sabers, preferring to stick with Federal.

So... I just dunno, Monty!

That is a good price and a good round. It's not not so much the bullet, it's where you put it.

I prefer to reload but, that doesn't sound like a bad price. BTW Monty, the GS load is a much better defensive load than the average bulk Remington loading, and as such,is much more expensive. Sort of like the difference between a Hornady InterLock load vs. a Hornady InterBond load in rifle calibers.
