| How long will ammo last How long will ammo last in my house centerfire, shotshell and rimfire will it last longer in military style ammo cans verses just sitting on the 'shelf' thanks rugernut |

| Considering how old military surplus ammunition is and it still goes bang most everytime, I'd say your stock will last a good long time. |

| +1 to Reddbecca. I have a bunch of military .45 ACP from 1945 that sat in storage for decades. Every one went bang the last time I tried them. |

| as long as its kept dry from moisture and cool it will last a long while, i have reloaded shotgun shells going on 13 years old and they go boom every time

| As said, keep it dry and cool(don't store it in the attic)and it will last a very long time. From the Fall of 1983 to summer 1985, I worked in a Hardware store where I bought 2 cases of 12 ga. ammo wholesale. Still got about 60 rounds. So far they've worked just fine.
