| Member | Spanish 5.56 Ammo? Several months ago I bought a case (1500 rounds) of 5.56 marked in Spanish (translated) "Army Manufacturing Plant." This afternoon I was finally able to get to the range with my AR and put about 100 rounds into paper. The rifle (scoped) was sighted in back in March using Black Hills 68 grain. Today the Spanish ammo grouped nicely about 3 inches above the bullseye. When I got the Nikon dialed in, the rounds held very tightly in target center. At a cost of about 33 cents a round, I think I did well as all I shoot are targets at the range. However, I haven't been able to find any information on the rounds (fps, ballistics, bullet weight, etc.). Anyone have experience with the ammo, know anything about it? Thanks |

| Member | The ammo was bought from a local gun shop. It came in a green wood box stenciled: IMG 1560 Cartuchos Calibre 5.56 Peso: 54 lbs./24.6 kgs Lote 6/99 The ammo itself is packed in 30 round lots with each lot in a separate cardboard box. Stamped on each cardboard box: I.M.G. Fabricia de Municiones del Ejercito 30 Cartuchos Calibre 5.56 mm Lote 06 The local store today advised there won't be any more of that ammo available. Guess I'll have to spend the next 1460 rounds carefully. |
