WHY IMPOSSIBLE to get .357 JHP online ??

I have Googled and searched over 300 maybe 400 hits on .357 Magnum Jacketed Hollow Point 140 or 158 grain AMMO and every single place I find that sells it is OUT OF STOCK and BACKORDERED.

WHY the shortage ??

People are buying like crazy in case Muhammed is elected.
There's a myth going around that the military is using up all components and there's a shortage.
It's causing a run on ammo and reloading stuff.

Come on fellas, you can start reloading! All you really need is a box of promers,a box of bullets,a can of powder, some casings,a set of lee dies for the cal.of your choice,a way to lube casings(crisco will work) the lee hand press which is under $20,and a primer seater, You can follow instructions that come with the lee dies and without even a scale, using the dipper that comes with the dies, and instructions on how to set the dies up you can load quality ammo for any caliber you wish. And you can get started for less than $100.An estimate:hand press$20.,dies $20, powder,$20.,100 bullets $20.,primers,under $4,Lee handheld primer seater,$10.And you can do this anyplace you can use a credit card to level the powder in the handy little scoop. This includes a taper crimp which is built into the seating die.It aint fast, but it is a lot of fun.You should have one of those casing trimmers lee has and a deburring tool, under $20.And advice is free from the great members on here. sam.

I'm a real rookie-newbie and am afraid of reloading until I get a little more comfortable with this new sport. Perhaps in the future I will try it !!

It`s been impossible to get .357 mag WInClean at my local shop and indoor range for MONTHS.

9mm, seems to be plenty. I`d have thought the military would be using that, not 357.

I don`t have time to make my own .357, so when I go in I use 38 SPL cowboy loads which seem to have coal dust in them, by god they are filthy to shoot.

I miss shooting WinCLean 357.. Nothing better than standing next to some wuss with his shirt tucked into his underpants firing his .22 or 9mm and KABLAM!!! big ol` flames and noise comin` out the end of the revolver.. Nyuk nyuk nyuk..

These folks have always shipped to me relatively quickly.

Home Page

Also, Cor-Bon has shipped in general OK, but sometimes backordered.

Might try www.sportsmansguide.com as well

I find some individual suppliers having to backorder stuff I'm buying sometimes (had similar experience with 7.62x39 in tins strangely enough); however, when this happens someone else usually has a plentiful supply. Materials costs are going up, which (due to its long shelf life) makes investing in ammo in the near term a good deal. This, combined with a war going on, anti's trying to ban ammo in some states, and a gun banner as a potential president sometimes increases demand with constant supply. Generally though, ammo of all kinds is still relatively plentiful.

The SCOTUS decision will eventually aid in reigning in the uber-antis, but not without a fight. DC's still effectively ignoring their decision.
