Since Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter is within about three miles from where I work they get the bulk of my business. Some of the shooting ranges have very competitive prices on the really common ammo just like Wally World, so the multi-billion Walton family is of no interest to me. There are other less mercenary and moe appreciative sources of third world goods if I were in the market for that kind of stuff.

Are you considering that when you buy online you don't have to pay sales tax??? It usually works out cheaper especially when you buy in bulk.

It depends on what's cheaper. Sales tax or shipping.

Where are you shopping that shipping is cheaper than tax? That was my first thought but I can't find anywhere that shipping is even close to sales tax.

After watching the documentary and how many businesses and towns even they put out of business, I'll definately pay a little more for some things when I can afford to. If you can, give it a watch, pretty eye opening. I couldn't believe Walmart employees, during that documentary anyhow, had to use Government programs to get by. Programs like WIC, Welfare, and some of the medical programs even. Costing taxpayers millions or billions total even.

Depends on how much you buy in some cases.

Some places, Ammo Man for example, will charge no shipping for large orders. There is one seller in the cheaper than dirt classifieds too that doesn't charge shipping but selection is limited. I bought a box or Cor Bon .40 for $13.00 delivered. Ammo Man's main range round is wolf which I don't really care for. Ammo Man has some great deals on Speer Defense Rounds if you buy 250 or 500 with no shipping. I love the white box Winchester Target and Range and sadly Old Wally beats everyone.

Some do some don't. It may have to do with local laws. I was also told that the individual store general manager can decide if they want to sell Ammo or Long Guns. You will see some sell Ammo only and some sell Long Guns too. I have never seen a Walmart sell Handguns though.

Cheaper Than Dirt is great. I have bought many things from them but their shipping on Ammo is very high making the ammo not such a great deal.

Their shipping on everything somehow seems to make it not so much cheaper than dirt.

If you want a Wally World alternative, Georgia Arms Georgia Arms is pretty cheap on common stuff like .223 and 45ACP if you buy their brand (Canned Heat) in bulk. Like the other websites, you have to figure the shipping cost to see if it is cheaper overall for you. I have only used Canned Heat for the range but have had no problems whatsoever with any of it and have used .223, 45ACP and .40SW.

WIC is available to pretty much anybody. The level of income is pretty high compared to other programs.

Most young military families probably qualify for the same programs. I know mine did when I was an A1C in the USAF. I guess we should boycott the military too.

The show I went to on Saturday had ammo for more than WalMart. The only good thing they had was the stuff that WalMart doesn't sell.

Walmart has "low" prices with little selection. Cabelas has everything with the same prices. Or just try a couple gun shops.
