| Well, OK...I shoot my own ammo, not that familiar with factory ammo, never experienced the consistency I was looking for. Just can't see why one would want to insult a fine machine with substandard materials. Sort of like fondling your girlfriend's breasts without washing your hands after working on the car. |

| Oh, and BTW...my M1A came with a Springfield barrel, no chrome, very accurate. |

| Alan, I do not know what kind of weird rifles you fire, but I have never heard of ANY semiautomatic or automatic firearm where the the ammunition will " slam the bolt foward ". The recoil springs do that. The ammunition either directly moves the bolt rearward with recoil or the propellant gas pressure somehow acts on the bolt or bolt carrier to move it rearward. NEVERMIND, I just saw your second post.
