Quality AR uppers for less money

Who do ya'll get uppers from? I'm seeing price ranges all over the place and it's getting a little confusing. Price is most important to me, but of course, I don't want junk either.

Go with either Del-Ton or J&T. Del-Ton uses Wilson barrels, same as RRA, and J&T uses Shaw barrels.

Of course, the price depends on what you want. If your wanting just a basic 16" or 20" upper, or an M4 upper, expect to pay between $295-$315 without the bolt carrier group and charging handle, add $100 with them.

Check out www.model1sales.com

Most of the companies out there are of pretty decent quality and usually pretty competive on price. Pred's right, expect to pay around the $300 range for an upper, less the bolt carrier group and charging handle.

The only thing I don't like about Model 1 is some of the reviews I've heard. 99% of the people I've talked to have gotten great service and parts from J&T and Del-Ton, but Model 1 seems to be more like 60-40. I remember one guy saying he's built 4 or 5 rifles with Model 1 kits. He said one kit was missing some lower parts, and one kit had an out of spec something, but all the rest were great.

I've heard the same thing about their lower kits. Some of them are made a little sloppy as far a tolerances go. A buddy of mine has a 24 inch varmit upper from Model1, and its a tack driver. It sets on a DPMS lower, and the only complaint he has is that the receiver retainer pins fit really tight.
