As someone said, good deals can be found. I passed on a perfect Colt 20", A2 stock, flat top upper with carry handle for $650-$750. Why, I don't know... Yes I do, stupid wife...

DPMS, there service and answer desk are top notch.
I have not had one misfire/stovepipe/slam fire etc..and i'm at about 1000 rds with it..
But I followed the manufacturers breaking in instructions to the T, including cleaning that SOB after every 5 rounds...and I only fire Lake City Or Remington through it.

Got a Bushy myself. Love it. It is the 24" barreled Varminter. Building another one from ordered pieces. Seems good so far. I'm sure DPMS' are probably about as good. But, haven't used one, so I can only talk about the Bushmasters.

I realize the origional post was DPMS vs Bushy, but can anybody say STAG (STAG ARMS).
I personally shoot an DPMS lower with a STAG upper it's a carbine I use for tactical shoots. I'd like to add that STAG uppers are all chrome lined for the same or less than most others. My next AR is going to be built on an RRA (Rock River Arms) lower since they kinda make the two stage trigger group as their standard set up, this one will be a 20" NM rifle.

I just shoot for fun, but if I had to carry one for duty I'd go STAG or RRA (RRA supplied rifles for the DEA right now) over DPMS.

from the guys at m4carbine.net

I bought a Bushmaster for my son recently and he has shot the chit out of it with out ant problems.
A friend of his bought a Bushmaster M4 like my sons along with some Wolf 223 ammo though my son didn't shoot any Wolf his friend had a few rounds jam.

I took my son's apart to clean and I was impressed with the quality of workmanship.
I paid $850 something for his...A.H

I have a stag, (I shoot left handed) and I love it. I also added an aftermarket rubber grip (not show here) and a mccormick drop in 3 pound match trigger, plus a cross hair front site.

interesting info

I am retired LE (not retired by choice) and always used colt. I am now more well informed than I was long ago. My son is building a personal ar to carry when situations demand it. He is in USAFSOC and his unit has its own armorer. He advised rock river all the way. Their unit issue weapons are 90% rock river. You get what you pay for. IM not running dow dpms cuz they make some good stuff, but if your life may depend on it, so you decide. this is just my informed opinion, and opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one and most all of them stink. Be careful out there.
