No problem man, hope you enjoy the gun. I warn you, you can't own just one. You have no idea the problems your wallet faces now.

Pred ... being a shooter of AR's for the past 15+ years, I thought I knew them inside and out. You are quite an asset here for other shooters, including myself... with your intimate knowledge of the AR platform.

Thanks for your support and advice and in addition, the reality you pointed out above regarding the problems facing AR shooters' wallets...!

They sure are fun... but can be pricey.

Thank you. I don't know everything about AR's, nor do I claim to. But I really enjoy helping newer or unexperienced guys out when it comes to this platform. Now, again, if any of you get the bright idea to knock out the trigger guard pin, BRACE THE EARS ON SOMETHING!!!!

I suggest a Troy Industries Folding Battle Combat Sight and an EoTech. JMPO.

What do you suggest for optics?

I am looking for a scope small as i can get, I have ruled out a holosight unless you might tell me somthing about it that i might need to use it for. I was thinking of equipting it with "Flash light, Green Laser, and scope" NON HOLOSIGHT. what brands would you buy or consider good for about 150-200 on each item? or is that being too cheap on those items? And what items can i scarfice quality for? Flashlight? laser sight ect. and who do you think has a good medium quality for the price? anything will help? "or maby buy used?

If you want a decent, cheap flashlight setup, buy a G2 LED and a 1" ring. A good quality laser is going to cost you some money. I mean I guess you can buy a cheap one but.... I'm gonna do some research on those Russian red dots to see how good they are for the money.

I just got one and put it on my shotgun (for now). It was about $100 from sportsmans guide, and it's bright as hell. You can see the beam at nighttime very clearly. I was playing with it at USMC's ranch, and we had a good time.

100 yds. isn't all that far. To me anyhow. lol

I hate to spend or suggest anyone spend there money on eBay, mostly they make their money from sellers anyhow, so just buying is tolerable. But anyhow, if you're wanting a light and mount for an AR or shotgun, try this. Not expensive and it's bright and works fine. I have one.

So if you want another light option, try this one. This seller is good also. No worries. Personally, I prefer Xenon bulbs over LED. I know LEDs last longer, but to me, a Xenon bulb is far brighter.

He meant the beam, not the dot at the end of it. I couldn't find anything to point it at that we couldn't see the end of it, except for the sky. That thing is bright.
As far as your other recommendations, the LED vs Xenon is basically preference. Both are better for certain things, but the LED is a newer technology. They're doing a lot more with it. Look at the difference of how bright they've gotten in the last couple of years vs the first ones. I have one of the new TLR-1 units by streamlight, and it blows my mind how bright it is.
Units like the ones you posted are great for plinking or figuring out exactly what you want without spending loads of money, but once you find something you like I'd recommend spending the money for a reputable well made product.

You did well, and McBride's is a good man to deal with. I've stood at that counter many times.

My bad at4rxj.

As for the flashlights I linked, I only posted those because they said they wanted something inexpensive, and well, those indeed are. But for the money, they work well. A XENON bulb running on 2 CR123 3volt lithium batteries. About 45 Lumens or so. Just a guess. might be a tad higher?

Let's face it, they (mounted lights) will eventually get banged up. Personally, knowing that, I'd rather not spend that much on a light that I won't use that often and rather put the money I'll save, or not spend into better optics or other accessories, like a decent set of BUIS, or a good rear one only.

But I truly see your point at4rxj. It is preference, and I prefer the XENON over LED and many are the other way around...

It's all good... LOL
