Looking for an aftermarket light trigger, AR-15.

Not looking to spend too much, but yet a nice and light trigger. 3 to 3 1/2 Lb. (Maybe Lighter)

Two stage? If not I'd look at a RRA lower parts kit. If so I'd still looke at a RRA two stage. RRA is hard to beat, and alot of people will agree they make one of the best on the market. Better then Bushmaster, Armalite also makes a good LPK too.

I am looking for a 2 stage and the RRA keeps coming up. Is that what you have on your AR?

I don't know what you consider to much but you won't find a better two-stage trigger than the LMT. The RRA 2 stage is a good trigger but you can tell a difference side by side. It's up to you if the $40 difference is worth it.

My friend shoots CMP with an AR and he has a match trigger he lightened himself with a stone, he's useing a Rock River set. Care should be used when honeing the parts, don't hone the disconnector, you need to hone the trigger and hammer notch. after you've adjusted the trigger and hammer, you want to try the action dry to be sure it works properly. Then load one round in a magazine and test fire, next load two rounds in a magazine and test fire. While test fireing an AR after a trigger mod, I found the weapon would fire one round with a squeeze of the trigger and fire the rest of the rounds when I released the trigger. Be careful.

My goal is to get my groups down and turn my rifle into a range rat. The scope I just got will be a great all around addition. It has 2.5X for my close range defense shots and all the way up to 10X for the range.

After shooting my friends Chip McCormick trigger on his AR, I realized that a good 2 Stage will really get my groups down. I also think that a free float tube will help.

I want to be shooting 1" groups at 100+ yards. At first I thought I got too much scope, but I think that it is perfect now.

Here is the new Simmons Scope (You guys can tell me if you don't think that the scope goes with an M4)
What else do you guys think will help? I wish I had a 20' flat top!!!

If you want 1" groups the best thing to do would be to give me your DPMS and start over

I think that I am on the right track. At first, I thought the scope was just to bulky and huge, but it weighs nothing and has all the right adjustments that I need.

After all I have done to this thing, I don't think that I can ever get rid of it, but I'll put you in the will for it.
When you trade me uppers

I got the tube on order, so now it is RRA 2 stage trigger time

Lightbulb Pred

You might want to check out Chip McCormick. They make a one piece drop in trigger for the standard hole size that has cir-clips to hold it in. Shot one this weekend that fellow gunner brought to the range and it was sweet. Some times they are on E- Bay. Looking for one for my Bushy. The RRA is also good. SKS do you use 1/4" plugs to connect that AR to that amp? ha ha.

I'm thinking the McCormick trigger is probably a little more then he's wanting to spend. But yeah, those are very good triggers also.

I would go for the CM in a second, but just a little too rich for my blood. I shot one this weekend and it was smooth. I think any good 2 stage trigger will do what I need, but with the CM you get the entire assembly and it is easier to install.

I am trying to stay under $100. With the cost of floating and the tube, I think that I can get both the floated handguard and the trigger done for $150 and I am in 1'' group territory now that I have a decent scope.

Do you fellas think think that my best bet is going for a trigger and floating handguard? Is there anything else that is going to help me get the grouping that I want, hardware wise?

The free float handguard and two stage trigger will help, alot. But heres another question for ya, how many rounds have you put through THAT rifle?

Hopefully I'll also get to post some pics before long of my AR with some new goodies on it. Santa should be bringing me a Magpul MIAD grip, MI two piece forearm, and a Tango down foward grip. I'm also thinking of changing out my rear sight to an LMT tactical rear sight, and now I'm starting to lean towards a Bushnell Holosight.

I'd be happy with a real nice red dot, but for 75 the scope turned out to be a good deal.

Sounds like you are going the assualt road rather than the range road?
How about an aimpoint?

I'll spend $250 on a red dot, but no more. Now if I was an officer or in the military I would, but since I only use the gun for some fun at the range, I can't justify spending that much on one.

Red dots and holosights are great, but I think that my rifle is going to be a range gun and I am not going to use it for defense unless the zombies actually do come. So, I am going to go the boring accuracy route.

Next time at the range I am going to use Black Hills ammo and take more time in between shots.

How much was your flat top upper?

Uhhh, standard 16" and 20" uppers run $299 without the bolt carrier group. M4 uppers should be no more then $10-$15 more. Chrome lined barrels should be no more then $45-$50 more.

Sks

Did you check out e-bay? They had a used RRA trigger for opening bid of 10.00. I think it is expired, but you can send them back to the factory for redos.
