Front sight removal

If I buy an AR15 like this one-

Olympic Arms, Inc.

Can I also remove the front sight to add a red dot to the upper receiver? I'm buying an AR15 this weekend, and I'm at the last minute looking at some different options on what to buy.

No need to remove your front sight. I use a BSA 32 mm red dot on .5" risers. It even will co-witness with any BUIS you might mount behind it.

He's right. You can leave it on, but to answer your question, yes, you can take your sight off (it's your gas block) and change it for another one. They make all different kinds from ones with quad rails, to low profile, etc...
