I'll get more specific info after I talk to my Buddie but I think it was on par with the .223 out to a couple hundred yards. I'll also find out what ammo he uses.

How much does he have in that AR? I was thinking about doing an Oly in .39, but a lot of the reviews and people I talked to swayed my from doing so. Let me know what all is needed to put one together.

I just put a DPMS M-4 together for ~$700. Only shot it once, but seems to be really nice. I also have a Bushmaster. Great gun, but pricy. Go with the .223.

Agreed. I'd advise anyone to start with the 223. The first, the original caliber Armalite designed it for. Also, the top and bottom do go together easy. If you can figure out how to load and insert a magazine, you can do this. Anyway, you will need to seperate the two halves anytime you clean it.

You can go with whatever brand you like but for a low cost gun it's hard to beat Olympic.

choices

I own a Bushamster, Armalite and a Rock River Arms and for the price the RRA is just as good, I cant wait til the RRA LAR10 comes out, but I talked to a sales rep today and he said it would be June before they went into"production" due to changes to the top. they are already a year late, but it took me 6 months to get my Armalite AR10 from the time I ordered it last year.
