Panther Arms

I'm looking to buy an AR-15.My local gun shop has a Panther Arms(DPMS) Lite 16.On the DPMS websit it is under the 5.56 guns. Will it shott the .223 bullet, too?The guy wants $695 for the gun,2 30-rd clips, sling, and hard case,is this a good deal?Is the DPMS gun a good, reliable gun.I will use it for target range shooting and home defense. Thanks!!!

If it's chambered for the 5.56 then yes, it will work with both rounds. Can you give us a little more detail about the gun? Like fixed or collapsible stock. Flat top upper, A1 or A2. But yeah, the price doesn't sound that bad. If the gun is in good shape I'd say it's a good deal, not great, but good. Might tell him you'll give $650 for it and see what he says.

If you want my honest opinion, I'd pass on that deal.

I think you'd be much happier looking into building an AR. You can get a pre-assembled lower, then throw an olympic arms complete upper on there, and you'll come out about the same as buying that. Just my $.02

I've heard nothing but good things about DPMS though.

DPMS is good stuff. I put a DPMS together and it is a great rifle; it holds it own.

It is almost done. I have to float it, put a flat top upper receiver, muzzle break, and an Acocg.
