| Member | Light for my Ar I just purchased a new entry tactical RRA. I was wanting to put a light on the gun but I needed help in finding a good inexpensive light. Does anyone know of one? I already have the rail system and the mount for a light I just didnt know of a good light. Thanks |

| Senior Member | sks is exactly right. You can find lights for an ar ranging from $10 up to $450. What is your budget for this, and tell us more about it... do you want to be able to take this off and use it on a pistol? Use it hand-held? Do you want it to be mounted, or have a quick release? LED or regular? LOL... there's just a lot of options out there |

| Member | WOW, See what I mean I dont know anything about this stuff. My budget is about $50-$75. I want it to be a light just for my AR and I dont know what the difference is in the LED and the regular except for the LED probably last longer. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | Most Of the LEO's I know are using Streamlight Scorpion Lights or Tac-stars with Xenon Bulbs...I have a Scorpion, 6,500 peak Beam candlepower, but eats Batteries !!! LED lights last a lot longer but , you sacrifice the Blinding bright light !

| Senior Member | any of the surefire or streamlight lights are excellent. I went with a Springfield XML light. It's smaller, has a quick detach for the rail, and will fit pistols as well. Very bright. They run about $90 Otherwise, get a flashlight mount (looks like a scope ring) and mount a light (usually 1" tube) such as a $40 surefire or streamlight and you're in business. |
