| YAY! Lower arrived
Just got my Bushy lower. Was only $169 through my local shop too. Time to order the trigger assembly and all the upper stuff. I am a bit torn on whether to order an A2 or A3. I like the looks of the standard A2 with the handle, and I already have a A3 Bushmaster, so I was thinking I might get the A2 to just kind of round it out. But, then I was thinking about the options of the A3 and I can always get the removable handle, if I want. What do you guys prefer? I am also torn on whether I want to get a Picanti rail or the standard ribbed foregrip. What do you guys think of the difference. I love the classic look, but again, the Picanti rail offers so much versatility. To give a bit of history, I have a Bushmaster Varminter 24". I am building a shorty. Maybe a 12" barrel with 4" flash supressor, or something. But, it is going to be a shorty, nonetheless.

Honestly Crazy, I love ya, but I think you payed to much for a stripped lower. I know Bushmaster is a "name" brand, but you basically payed an extra $40-$50 for a logo. That extra money would have payed for most if not all of a lower parts kit. Either way, it's a nice start, and it's your rifle. I'm just some crazy hiding in the trees.

I would stick with the A-3 upper. You can always add a Carry handle. Check out midwayusa.com - they have complete bushmaster uppers. I don't remember which they have. As Pred said, you did pay a little more for the logo, but so what you got what you wanted. My only suggestion would be to stick with everything bushmaster - like I wouldn't want my upper saying DPMS after I just paid extra for a bushmaster lower. Just me though. Enjoy!

uppers rarely have any writing at all on them so you can put just about any one on there and maintain the bushy name. I would suggest you put a good rail system on it because as soon as you get it done you WILL be looking to put goodies on it. also an A3 upper is much more versatile as you said. This one started out as nice vietnam era xm177, but I couldnt leave it alone, I'm a guy, I tinker.

Yea, I know I could have paid less for another brand, but I already have a Bushmaster rifle and it has been good to me, so I just figured why bother testing with another brand. Not as expensive as colt, anyway. I definitely want the modular forward. I am looking to put a tactical forward grip and perhaps a light mount. I haven't decided if I want to do Iron sights or a Holographic 1x or 2x scope. I suppose I could install a flip-up rear iron and the permanent forward iron sites, and the Holo-scope with quick-release if I want to use the Irons. You definitely have sold me on the A3 upper though SilverRun. That is a fine looking rifle golem. You are definitely "strapped." hehe

If you really want something thats slick, get you a M4 profile upper with a flip up front sight, free float rails, flip up rear sight, a AA version EOTech, GG&G forward grip... Get the upper chrome lined and put a good "stickin" flash hider on it like a Phatom 5C2, I think thats the name.

yea pred, this is the one I was looking at actually: Bushmaster M4 Type A3 Post Ban Receiver with Izzy Brake Then I was looking at renovating it with this: B.M.A.S. 4 Rail Split Handguard I'll probably buy them for cheaper from my local seller, but yea...those are them.

Glad to hear you are going with the A-3. I will never own another A-2. The A-3 is way more versatile. Later | |

| When I said upper I meant upper receiver, not a complete upper half. you can easily assemble an upper with no visible marking on it.

I would go A3 without a doubt. You can always get the detachable carry handle and still have the look that you want. I would go A1 over A2 personally. Bushmaster is good product, I would love to get some Bushy stuff, but I just can't afford it. They seem to have really nice LPKs and standard triggers.
