| Senior Member | I have seen some nice camo jobs, but all of them have been in tan. Painting plastic is one thing, but I would never paint metal.

| Senior Member ![]() | yea the camo color sucks ! If you read the complete story it was interesting that there selling more 223 ammo then any other centerfire cartridges, and it wasn't being sold to the military. Now I know who bought Remington, Thanks two-70 for the info...A.H |

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | I agree with Lefty, it's just another overpriced AR clone. As my Daddy used to say, "you can polish a turd, but when you finish it's still just a shiny piece of sh**."

| Moderator ![]() | Gotta realize, guys - Big Green was/is in financial trouble. They are now owned by a corporation that requires it's new-bought assets to become profitable, for later resale. AR-15s are hot now - a ready market it would seem. They are thinking they can woo some Fuds over to the AR15 concept by making it resemble a hunting rifle. As always, it's the bean counters driving this thing. It could well flop though - the AR15 has become a cottage industry, with every third household out there building their own. Gotta CNC machine? You can build your own receiver. Add in the other bits - "VOILA"! And they do it cheaper than Big Green is asking. Remington has stepped into an already saturated market with an over-priced entry - they better either have something to set it apart from the flock, or a danged good Advertising Department!

| Senior Member | If they want to market it as a hunting weapon there is no purpose the chamber it in .223. For hunting they should only make 6.8 and 7.62. If people want a .223 AR Remington is the last on their minds with all of the other brands available for less and that have a reputation as a tested and true battle rifle.

| Senior Member | I am guessing that gun will sell. It is like anything there will be people who think this is something new to the market. Then you have Remington fans who will buy one because it has that name on it. There was a reply on that page that read something like "armalite, bushmaster DPMS?!? I know nothing about them. But Remington, thats a name I can trust." So there ya go. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | I'd never pay that much, but if Bushmaster's making then and Remington's reaching a new crowd that only know old American brand names, and people buy them, then that's great. If they don't sell, it's not like Remington paid that much to make them. Plus, Remington's MSRPs tend to be a bit higher than actual retail prices. Armalite's been making camo ARs for a bit, so why not Rem/Bush? And just because it only comes with a 5rd mag doesn't mean you can't stick a c-mag in there if it's legal for hunting in your state, or at the range.
