Nope never heard that one...But I heard you could put Slick 50 oil treatment on the interworkings of a semi-auto rifle and it would make it shoot full auto. ...A.H

That stuff has been around forever; we used to use it to free up frozen pistons when engines had gotten water into them, or to free up frozen piston rings. I always suspected it was mostly kerosene...

I've heard that boiling a quart of Crisco and dumping it into a Glock will turn it into full auto.

I've been using Marvels Mystery Oil for a long time and have no complaints, what-so-ever. Lubes good, protects from rust and goes a long way. JB

Probably not a bad choice, but alot of shooters including myself have moved to Mobil One the synthetic motor oil in either 5w-30 or 0w-20for all lubrication needs.

I use Amsoil 2 cycle Synthetic On my guns to keep them operational at Sub-zero temps (-20 and colder)and works well for lubrication during Rapid fire and heating up semi-auto Actions.
Marvel Mystery Oil is a Very High Detergent 10w Oil in the same class as Automatic transmission fluid. It was originally intended for upper Valve/ cylinder lubrication on Industrial engines where a special Designed drip unit was installed to increase Valve Life and reduce carbon buildup.

Simple test...Put a sample in the freezer...see what happens. If it stays light and pourable...should be fine.
If it turns to molasses , or waxy, then dont use it..
Rich

on the Ar-15 you can use the Military Oil that is Arctic grade...Alaska Military tested and approved !

Marvel Mystery Oil is a great product but I've never used it on my guns. I've used it for years to lube my air tools and to dissolve rust. It works similar to Kroil but it's not as thin. It also has a pleasant (to me) mint smell that might not be the best for a favorite deer rifle. It also works well in your gas tank to extend gasoline life if you have a vehicle that's going to sit for awhile.

I've used the stuff as a gas additive in my motorcycle. Didn't notice much but the bike seemed to run smoother. A friend of mine swore by it. Never tried it on my weapons...hmmmm...I wonder if it would make my mini-30 any smoother?
I haven't tried the CLP yet but I mainly use Gun Slik to lube mine...guns, guys, get your mind back on track.

I'm trying mobile one on my Ar and XD 40 and all I can say is it takes very little. I'm talking i used a q tip and its almost to much. That is my problem with oiling guns I always seem to go overboard a bit.

Conventional or synthetic oil will lube and preserve, but it attracks dust and it will eventually make your gun VERY sticky, unless you clean it periodically, whether it is in storage or not. I am currently using a moly based commercial spray lube that is AWESOME, very light, very lubricating and very durable. I will see if I can find a supplier.

Well I cleaned off all the Oil and re-lubed more lightly and all I can say is that working the action of the gun making a little friction that oil starts to stink! Moose does that Amsoil have a foul odor like a motor oil? I didn't know synthetic oil had such a foul smell.
