| Locations where my AR-10 is allowed to hunt (deer) or other animals Hello all, This is my firwst post and this site has been most helpful in my search for a new rifle. I read up about your comments and I decided on a DPMS Panther AP4 in a .308 Winchester Calibre. My first (of many) questions: I am from Northern IL, just under the WIsconsin border. We have some of the premier deer hunting and hunting is asport I would like to get into while back home on leave from school at west point. However, I do not believe that an AR style rifle is allowed to hunt in my state (muzzle loaders, shotguns and handguns only |

| Welcome aboard. Michigan is one state where you can use your rifle, but the lower portion of the lower peninsula is shotgun only, as I remember. |
