Yes, and according to the OP, it's because I think to highly of myself, and am unintelligent, knowing nothing about AR's......

Billy,
You may use it if you like.

Pred,
I dodn't say you did not know anything about ARs, I sais you were a D**KWEED.
There is a difference.
You don't disburse your knowledge in a manor most people would listen too.
I should be flattered as nobody has called me kid in over 40 years.

I showed my friend your posts and he had a good laugh. We met in June 64, at boot camp and covered each others backs for 4 years in Nam. We made it through.

I'll leave the last half of your post alone. I have a feeling my response would get me into trouble. Feel free to post any more questions you have about AR's, despite what I think of the person I always try to help them out.

As for not liking them I was USMC from April 64 till Dec. 68 and that is where I formed my dislike and it hasn't changed. Sorry if you are offended but I am entitled to my opinion. This is still a free country.

Dogman

Semper Fi and yes! you most certainly are entitled to your opinion. Many of these young pups are too young to remember the jams and massacres at the Michlin Rubber Plantations and how many of our guys were DEAD beside their jammed M15s.

I will add Dogman, I do rememeber those days well and I preferred the M14. There have been many great improvements to the BLACK GUN since those days and I will say FAR LESS JAMS.

I competed with the Black gun for over 10 years and fired at least 30,000 rds per year with it and witnessed only a handful of jams and that was because of TOO much oil or no oil.

The A2 has a 4 postion Square front sight posts or the U.K. version which is a needle. The OLD A1 had a 5 postion ROUND frt post and there was No elevation changes in the back and you needed a cartridge to change windage and elevation. Now Elevevation and Windage can easily be changed with knobs on the rear. There is a better Bolt Assist and better grips. We shot back to 600 meters and I will tell you one thing, because the ARs have the front swivel on the barrel and the real on the butt stock, TIGHT SLINGS are a BIG no no. The BLack Gun is very NON FORGIVEN and you can NOT strap yourself in as you could with the M14. Hasty Slings are not to be used for you will pull the barrel downward and you will need a whole bunch of elevation adjustments to compensate.

I now own a couple of Colts and love them. I also own a Springfield M1a and love that more but after shooting the AR for many years and many, many thousands of rounds, I do like it and it shoots very very well. The NEWER ARs will fool you, give one a try and you will fall in love with it.

I also think that a M16 with a SCOPE is a funny sight. Iron Sites are all that is needed, for if you need a scope you ain't close enough yet.

The rifle has been fired 70 times.

All for $1600.00

I told him I would ask for advice on it as I don't like ar rifles.

You advice please.
Back to the original post........1600 is about top dollar. If your friend wants to get into reloading, a better deal. Used reloading components can be hard to sell. I know I would want to know the person I'm buying powder, primers and cases from. Aramlites, imho, makes a much better rifle than others mentioned. Offer $1200, that would be a great deal.
