| why is it unethical. It was not for me it was to get information for him. I did not know if it was a good price or not. That is why I asked. As for not liking them I was USMC from April 64 till Dec. 68 and that is where I formed my dislike and it hasn't changed. Sorry if you are offended but I am entitled to my opinion. This is still a free country. |

| Banned | Umm... now where is my BS flag.... Anyways, that sounds high to me. It's a used AR, post ban at that. I wouldn't pay more then about $650-$700 for it. The ammo is worth probably $350, the mags $125. The rest of the stuff has no meaning to me. I'd offer him $900 cash for what I listed, go to AR15.com and put the ammo and mags up for $450, and the rifle for $800. You'll make a few $$$ and help your friend out. |

| Correct me if I am wrong. Only thing different is no flash hider and no bayonet lug. I have never been that close to a coyote to need them. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | As a buyer and collector I would go as high as 1,250.00 to 1300.00 for the package, DEPENDING on several factors, such as Magazine Mfg., If the ammo is factory or reloads, etc... 700-800 for the rifle is a fair price... 2000 bullets=140.00 8 Lbs. of powder=160.00 950 rnds factory ammo= almost 500.00 now dies and other stuff=100.00 Rich

| Banned | Well, Moose MAY be right on the ammo, but it all depends on what it is. You can get a 1000 rounds of Silver Bear for around $220. Lake City stuff however is around $500 per 1000. Moose is going a little higher for the rifle then I would. Why? It's a post ban, no flash hider, no bayonet lug. $800 would go a long way in building a new 20" rifle. Yeah, but it's like buying a Camaro or Mustang with a V6.... whats the point? Last edited by Pred; 01-05-2008 at 08:30 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

| Banned | I can get the ammo for $436... Now, back to the AR. I honestly don't care what it books for, that doesn't matter. The thing can book for $1500 for all I care, I still won't give more then $650-$700 for it. Why? Easy, I can buy a 20" kit(with a chrome lined barrel, not sure if this rifle has one) for under $600. Add a stripped lower for $85 and I've got a BRAND NEW rifle for at or under $700, with a carry handle. I still can't figure out why people care so much about a logo. An $85 Double Star lower is just as good a RRA, Armalite, or Colt lower, the only difference is the logo and maybe, and I do mean maybe, a little better finish. If I took the time to find a used stock and complete upper that rifle would be about $100-$150 cheaper(since we're talking about a used rifle). People need to realize that if your going to buy or sell an AR for more then $1000-$1200 it better have a free float railed forearm, two stage trigger, some type of Magpul stock, and either a Super Sniper scope, EOTech, or an Aimpoint. |

| Thanks for all the input but a rifle with 70 rounds through itmisn't really used. My dodge pickup had 238 miles on it when I bought it and I don't consider it used. If a rifle can't last a lifetime of use what good is it. I checked on the story of the rifle and it was bought for the guys son on graduation from high school and he was KIA of April last year in Iraq. So yes to the value if nothing else than to thank the man for his son. |

| Pred, All firearms are test fired before they leave the factory, so all guns are used before you get them. I have a car for you!!!! We took a Cadillac body and stuck it on a Yugo chassis and running gear and according to you that should be as good as a new caddy. Is your job a managerial position where you by will fit parts, instead of quality, and it's someone else's job to make them work? In your great knowledge, a five shot Harrington & Richarsson top break in 38 S&W would be as good as a Colt Python? I wonder if your glassectomy is bothering you? You know where they removed your belly button and replaced it with a piece of glass so you could see where you were going!!!!! Remember. Some people bring joy by coming and some by leaving. Where do you fit in. |

| Banned | LMAO, ok kid. Here's the problem with your logic. Your not buying the gun factory direct, or even from a dealer, your buying it from an owner who has used it. I realize this may be hard for you to understand, but that does make the rifle used. Do you get it now? Do I need to draw you a picture? Cause I'm really starting to wonder. |

| Aramlites are premium rifles, but a 20'' heavy barrel is nothing special. Sounds like the rifle is worth 700-800, but without seeing any pictures it is hard to say. All original or modified? Lets see some pics. Ammo is around $350-$400 depending on condition. Used rifles don't bring the big bucks unless they are LMT or Colt. All original Armalite 20'' in prefect condtion like that is worth no more than 700-800.

| Pred. Some people are legends in their own minds. I appreciate the learned and knowledgeable advice I got from the intelligent members of the forum and some I took for what they are worth. IMHO 70 rds. thru a rifle does,'t even break it in. I admit that it was offered to my buddy snd not me. I have not seen it but I trust him to tell me the truth. I also admit I have a digital camera but have never learned how to post pictures. Probably just laziness but running four businesses does't leave much spare time. On the information I got from good sources I told him to buy it. |

| Banned | Ok. My point was and still is, it's a used rifle. No, 70 rounds is nothing to an AR. But it's still used. As Beer said, it's nothing special, you can buy a brand new AR for $650-$900 depending on what you want. When I buy something I only buy it if two things are true. One, I want it. Two, I can buy it at a price that will allow me to sell it and make money. If you told your friend to buy it at that price, he won't make money on it. I appreciate your little stab at my intelligence. The fact remains, I'm still right, and you know nothing about AR's. The rifle is used, yet you continue to argue that point with me. So, that being said, you gave your friend bad advice, GG. |
