I've heard a little about the Remington version. And I think the only real difference is a camo paint job. If your hinting around about what to buy, build your own using parts from RRA, Double Star, Rainier Arms, Stag, Del-Ton...

Pred why don't you come up with a conparison chart ? Meaning showing what it cost to build a certain model AR verse's buying the same model. A.H |

The prices change on these parts faster than ArkansasHunter's underwear... Well, I guess if I want to say they change a lot that's a bad analogy... Anyway, that would be hard to keep up with. You'd have to update that thing weekly at best. (SORRY AH, I had to |

I saw the CD AR15 clone at the SHOT show. Looks like they did good. Their "LE" version is basically a copy of the Colt 6920 in terms of features, with 4150 steel barrel, 1/7 twist, staked castle nut and carrier key, M4 feedramps, etc...

"Remington's AR-15" is in fact a Bushmaster. Cerberus Capitol Management owns both Remington, and Bushmaster. It also owns DPMS, and Marlin as well. Look for a lot of brand switching and merging as this continues. It should make the, "my AR-15 is better than yours" argument even more lame. Bill T.

Just wanted to confirm what you had said. Bushmaster and Rem AR's are more or less the same gun with different name stamps. I have built an AR from the ground up and it is possible to save some money doing it if you put all the labor into it. Pretty simple overall and lots of diagrams available online. Problem is when you start looking at what parts to use you can easily go way over budget with the end product. What I started out thinking was going to be a nine hundred dollar coyote gun quickley became a 2000 dollar coyote gun because I just had to have to many things. I don't have the self control to keep the dollars where they should be. If you do then it could be cheaper to do it yourself. |
