| Is this a good buy? I have a guy wanting to sell me an unfired AR carbine. Made by Mega Machine products. I had never heard of them till this, and when I looked them up I read nothing but good things about their lowers... (I guess they did areospace machining till contracting out to Olympic arms, then they started building their own.) Any way the guy wants $850 for it. We're still emailing and I sent him a list of questions that I want answered. But I wanted to hear what you guys thought. Here's the pics. He's giving me the choice of the flip up sight or the carry handle. Your thoughts would be appreciated. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Don't know AR's or their prices, but it looks cool! I'd get the handle myself. That's one of those areas I need to just stay away from.

| I helped a friend pick up one that had a Bushmaster lower receiver and a Stag Arms M4A3 upper (rail top) that was listed as $799 before tax. The flip sight he got was another $40+tax. He also go the quad-rail handguard that pushed his total after taxes and fees to just over $1300.

| Considering you can get a used Bushy M4 for that kind of cash, I would keep looking. Offer 650 with handle and sight.

| Mega makes EXCELLENT receivers (both upper and lower). The finish is night and day better than a bushy, dpms, rra, etc. They're very well made and will hold their value. I don't have any yet, but I will. I've handled several that belong to a few friends, and they are NICE. I'd get it if you can afford it, personally. |

| For a few hundred more you can/could get a new brand? Stags go for $989 and up. Also, it may just be the my eyes or the picture, what is that reddish tint on the bolt? I'd tell the person, $700 shipped. If they say no, then just add a couple hundred to the $850 you were willing to consider spending on that one and get either a Stag, Bushmaster or even a Rock River Arms model AR.
