| Picked up 2 EA lowers today I went to a local gun show today and picked up 2 EA lowers at $110 a piece. I would have bought all 5 the guy had but a friend of mine had been wanting some lowers so he bought 3 and I scooped up the other 2 he had. That brings me up to 8 lowers in my quest toward 20 or more before years end. They look exactly like my DPMS lowers down to the machine marks. I think I will pick up some more EA's especially if I can get them at the same price. Now I have to find some deals on parts kits and stocks. I hope to have all my lowers complete and to my liking by the time I start my first build. It is taking allot of restraint to keep from building an upper. I want to get high rider uppers to go with all my lowers. I will start picking those up soon but must stay focussed on getting my 20 to 25 lowers. Oh the 2 lowers I picked up today are in consecutive serial number. And 5 of my 6 DPMS lowers are in consecutive serial number. I hope to keep my streak going in getting them like that till my collection is complete. |

| You better cut that number in half and start picking up the uppers you want. If an AWB comes to pass, as we all fear it will if a Dem gets into office, you honestly think people are going to be selling their uppers? Companies aren't going to be making them anymore, and any person/place that does have them for sale will want top dollar for them. Edit.. I know companies will still make uppers, just not with a flash hider, bayonet lug stuff like that. For all we know they may ban barrels less then 20" also.

| The current proposed ban would technically make it illegal to assemble a lower AFTER the ban... However, how are they gonna know you assembled it afterwards? Unless they start putting serial numbers on uppers or something. Anyways, the best thing to do is not get complacent. We can stop a potential ban if we unite and put forth some effort. Let's not give up before the fight has started. We have gained some ground in the relatively short past. Also, take your friends and family members shooting, teach them about the purpose and need for firearms. Educate them in all things firearm related if they will listen. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

| Points well taken. I hadn't looked at it that way. Already have the family involved in shooting so that is taken care of. never thought about the restrictions on barrels but since I have access to a machinist I may pick up the barrel end hardware that I will need and put it away till I need it. The reason I want so many lowers is so I will be able to build all the calibers I want on individual rifles. I thought about getting a few lowers and then building all the uppers but my fear is the lowers as they are numbered and it seems like other than flash hiders they seem to always go after the lower components all the way to the mags. I have the mags I want and with the 8 lowers I am well on my way. Actually by mid summer I should have all my lowers and be on my way to at least putting together my stripped uppers. I think I will start putting together lower parts in bulk soon like a bunch of each of the springs and pins and detents then plenty of trigers and hammers and disconnectors. I have a good plan just have to try to keep it in my budget. Seems like every time I have a couple extra bucks though I'll be going for it till I put it all together. I am already noticing that the price and availability of lowers is starting to become an issue and if those of us that can think ahead get buisy at least we will be protected from our elected officials. I enjoy guns for hunting shooting and collecting but I don't want to be in a position where they tell me I can't have something or try to restrict my rights to it. |
