Another lower question

This is probably a dumb question, but...

Can a standard 5.56 AR lower be used for a .308 build? I've heard that it can't but I've heard others say that it can. A little clarification would be wonderful.

I guess I figured it out. I took out a .308 casing an realized that I'd need a deeper magazine well than the standard AR. But if anyone has anything to add feel free.

You would need an AR10 lower for a .308. The magwell of an AR15 is too small for .308 and other much larger calibers...
