Small hammer, pin punches, CAR stock wrench, and a 3/16 allen wrench or a flat head screwdriver depending on the LPK.

Make sure to have some tape around to cover parts of the lower while your putting the lower parts in. Save yourself a few scratches.

My advice, buy AK's and leave AR's alone. Cheaper ammo and you can buy like 4 AK's for the amount most people put into their AR's... besides, that leaves more stripped lowers for me.

A hockey puck to use as a block when punching the pins, the pins go in from left to right.

are you sure bc on the sight with the kit it clearly states that all u need is the stripped lower, and that it comes with the interal lower parts in the kit. besides the kit and the lower, all i would need is some sort of optics and that it right?

The lowers toward the bottom of the page are complete lower halves, ready for an upper to be slapped on and fire. Just keep in the mind difference between a stripped lower and a complete or assembled lower.

yes all you need with that full kit is a stripped lower.

IF you were buying an upper receiver alone you would need a complete lower.

and you'll need some mags.

I apologize. You are correct. I thought that was just the upper. Get that, a couple of pmags, and a rear sight. Then post some pictures!

Are pretty much all uppers and lowers compatible (as far as using different brands)?

good question jtuck. I have been wanting to buy an A@ upper for my M4 but found that the price is about the same as buying a whole new gun. Just a hair cheaper.

Most after market lowers and uppers are "small pin" refferring to the take down pins. Some of the pre bans and some colt's are large pin. There are bushings to take care of it and yes most uppers and lowers are compatible. Feel free to mix and match. Go with forged lowers and you will be fine unless you have deep pockets then go with a milled lower. (That is how the lower is made.) I have been working on my collection of lowers getting ready for election 08. I am putting mine together anticipating restrictions. I may never put an upper on one but I want them before the restrictions start and the prices sky rocket. I have 8 forged lowers, all were bought stripped. Now 4 are complete and 4 are stripped. I am expecting to add 10 more to the collection very soon. I am going with Essential Arms lowers this time. The others are DPMS and E A.
