I have a S&W M&P 15 and love it. I got a really good deal and for anything under a thousand for this gun you are getting a hell of a deal. It's accurate, reliable, and made of quality materials. Smith and Wesson makes good guns and their AR's are no exception. I would reccommend this gun to anyone for any reasonable amount of money. Great gun.

I was informed that either Stag or Bushmaster is making the MP15 for S&W. Any truth in that?

I've heard stuff like that before but I'm not entirely sure. I know that Stag has manufactured component parts for a lot of AR manufucturers for a long time so they could either be supplying the parts or making the whole gun. if thats the case then it explains why the M&P15 is a good gun because Stag seems like another quality company. I know Bushmaster makes the Remington series of ARs so this kind of manufacturing seems to be a trend.

I think Bushmaster makes the Remington ARs because both companies are owned by Cerebus Capital Management.

Me personally, I'd take a Stag over an M&P, but that is just me. Since I built my Stag I have never looked back. I don't believe the M&P is built to military specifications.

I have talked to S&Ws AR project Engineer and he says they are now being built inhouse. They even now own Thompson Center Fire and use their bbls before they used Mosberg bbls.

Well no matter who makes em I think they're great guns. but I think it's good that S&W is making em themselves because now I can honestly say I have a S&W AR and not a Stag with S&W written on it.
