RRA, If u want one, prepare to wait

Well it looks like I can finally start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I ordered an AR15 build from RRA last January. Paid up front as is their policy for a custom build.

Was initially told it would take 8-12 weeks build time. However they were currently ahead of schedule so I could most likely expect around 10 weeks.

Well 10 weeks came, no gun, but i wasnt too worried.
Week 12 came around Still no gun, My FFL calls them up, "We are now really busy with orders its going to be another 1 or 2 months...."

Well ok, Ive heard nothing but good about RRA so Ill wait.

4 Weeks later, still no gun,
Another month nears and end. Still no gun.

Finally someone from RRA calls up my FFL, "Hey, we see your still waiting, we just wanted to let you know we are going to start your order soon, it should be all good in another 2 weeks."

Well 6 months later, here I am with a 1,000 rounds of 5.56 ammo, a bunch of empty Pmags, and all sorts of other goodies, all in preparation for the gun I dont have yet lol.Ooh Im all set to go!

Only problem is I just bought an AK47 (got tired of waiting for my AR15 and I was gonna get one anyways) which should get here any day now.

Too bad I live in a "one gun a month" state. Which btw in reality equates to more than a month considering your wait time dont start till the gun with serial number comes in, paper work goes out, and gets sent back.

So, whats most likely going to happen is Ill get both my AK and my AR15 in around the same time, so then Ill have to store one of them at the FFL for probably 5 more weeks while I bide my "30 day cooling off period" to buy another regulated firearm.

*Siiiigh....

Lesson to everyone else, if you want Rock River Arms to build you a gun before the next election, or anytime in the near future for that matter, get on it and order now lol.

Personaly after waiting as long as you have I would buy a Bushmaster or DPMS instead.
They lied to many times and possible the quailty might not be up to snuff because of trying to "catch'' up with demand.
If your happy and thats all that really matters then the wait may be worth it.

Let's all hope so...A.H

I built mine out of all RRA products to avoid the wait. If you order directly from RRA of course you will screwed in the long run. The best bet is to order from an independent distributor, so you can stock and availability. There are tons of companies out there who have RRA rifles in stock and built to all sorts of different configurations.

I bought all my parts at a local gun store and put it together that same day and fired it the next.

I love my RRA.

The "semi"- Free State of Maryland

No assault weapon ban here like Cali or NY but you just have to wait on everything.

I think you should tell RRA to go screw themselves, which they have pretty much done to you and order it from the link below. Cheaper and you'll have it within the week.

He sells uppers and complete rifles. I bought two uppers and two lowers from him in the past. Pete is a great guy, can't hurt just to give him a call.

+1 to what Beer said...

Pete at Legal Transfers is a good guy. They ship quick, and you won't have to wait.

The "semi"- Free State of Maryland

That's 12 guns/year? Maybe?
1 gun a month?
Told that to my 25 yr old son. He nodded his head yes. Then asked him if he thought that was "reasonable" gun control? He nodded yes again.
"Mr. B", that's what I call him, "that is unreasonable." "That law is aimed at law abiding citizens to intimidate and restrict their individual rights guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights.

Don't want to get off on a pro-gun hyjack. Just wanted to know.

The Texas Army National Guard Shooting Team issues team members a Rock River Competition AR with Wilson S/S air-guaged heavy barrel.
that's what I'd been told. Got my vote for RRA

yea i know lol

to clarify, its one "regulated" gun a month, meaning assault rifles/assault shotguns and handguns, other long guns are non regulated and you can buy as many as you want when ever you want.

Think I'd go elsewhere. But then, that's why they want the cash up front, now you can't.

i am trying to understand why a pistol grip and or flash suppresor, or being black is any more dangerous than a mini 14, or a 223 remington model 700. being that that is a very accurate weapon.
are weapons supposed to be more dangerous when black, ???
thank god i live in minnesota.

Haha, if you listen to the ignorant liberals whose only source of firearms information are movies, TV and an obviously biased news media, then yes. Black rifle = more dangerous. We should ban black suits, black cars, black shoes... they're all evil!

Pistol grips? Duh, it has the word "pistol" in it, and pistols are evil. Flash suppressors? We want to make sure we see a muzzle flash, because we know those completely eliminate muzzle signatures.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing in the hands of politicians. A little knowledge fed to them by a lobby of idiots with their own misinformation? Even more dangerous. We can educate, we can scream and kick but sometimes you cannot overcome pure emotional bias. The only way to overcome it is by voting that Rep or Senator out of office. If any politician lets emotions rule their votes instead of education and hard facts, then they don't deserve to be in office anyway.

Sometimes I really hate CT. Kept the AWB on the books and one of our reps (A republican even!) is a cosponsor of the new AWB that was introduced... Come November, that guy does not get my vote.
