New Barrell Assembly

ok heres a question my lower assembly is for a .223 caliber ...if i buy a .308 upper will the magazines fit in my mag well or will i have to get a new lower

You can not use the AR15 lower. The .308 cartridge is 2.8" long. The .223 is only 2.26. Thus you will never be able to remotely get a .308 mag up that shoot.

There is a company that makes a single shot .308 upper for the standard AR lower, much like the 50 bmg version.
