| Good quality, At a good price. I would go with Model1sales.com I have a few of their rifle kits completed and am very happy with them. Its not top of the line, but people I have built for and I have been pleased with them. You should be able to build the rifle for around 650$ including the lower depending on what configuration your going for. Another one you could try is Del-ton but I dont know much about them. | You make a good point Pred. I might have just had good luck with the model1 kits. I have also seen some negative said about them. I built a Del-ton rifle, to the naked eye I can't tell the difference between the two but thats just by looks. The guy I built it for loves it. I have never fired one. For just playing around I would go with the model1 but thats just me. |

| Banned | Something else to think about, do you want a 1x7 twist barrel or a 1x9 twist barrel? 1x9 twist will work fine for the standard 55gr and 62gr stuff you'll find, however if you want to go with a heavier bullet the 1x7 twist would serve you well. Are you wanting a flat top upper, or a standard A2 upper? |

| it really doesnt matter about twist ill take whats standard and i deffinetly want standard carry handle because i have no intentions of scoping it id rather get good with iron sights then get a scope later down the road. |

| Model1 has a few other brands as far as parts but the uppers are all model1. You could always go with the A3 with Removeable flip sights. Then you would be set up for a scope when your ready and you wouldnt have that handle in the way. Last edited by Redbeernuts; 07-13-2008 at 05:01 PM. Reason: ? |

| Banned | Yeah you need to think about what you really want. A flat top gives you tons of options, but if you plan on just using iron sights and like the way a standard M16 looks, you'll probably want an A2 upper. |

| As for looks, its no different. I don't think accuracy is much different either, but Im not sure. Durability I dont doubt is the same. Stag is a well known and good brand but you will pay a little more the good thing is All parts are interchangable. Lets put it this way, I have about 4k in all my AR15's and all mine are Model1, I don't compete, I have fun with mine They haven't let me down. But keep in mind It all depends on what your going to do with it |

| I really wonder if it is worth the extra cost! The chromed area would probably just need a wipe, just like the unchromed version and lets, face it, you are going to lube up the other parts of it anyway, so no hassles there. On the overall scale of things, I wouldn't call it an upgrade, but that is just my opinion, right or wrong. I think mine is right! So in your way of thinking a chromed bore would also be considered an upgrade?? |
