Gunzilla vs. CLP?

Please share any personal experiences with Gunzilla. Is it that much better than CLP? Will it attract dirt like CLP? How much should I buy if I use it for a 12 month deployment?

Gunzilla isn't sticky and doesn't attract dirt.. I've been using it for over a year because of recommendations on this site and I won't go back to anything else..

TopDuck Products, LLC - Creators of Gunzilla

I bought a 8oz. spray bottle and a 16oz. refill bottle and I'm only 2/3rds through the original 8oz and haven't touched the big bottle.

$44 worth of product, and you won't have to pay shipping because it's more than $29 order. Check out the web site, and if you have any questions, fire off an email to Don Kettles.. You'll get a quick answer..

Good stuff!!

The Gunzilla stuff is amazing. It works 10 times better than the CLP that we are issued. After I applied the Gunzilla to my M-16 and 9mm pistol they operated like new. It was awesome stuff, when they get dirty again, I only needed to use my weapons brush and the dirt came right off. The guys with the mounted weapons, .50 cal, 240g, etc, love the stuff as well. The great thing is that unlike CLP the weapons do not accumulate dirt as quickly.

Gunzilla: Without a doubt the best weapons care product in the world. Since our squad started using it in September of 2006, we have weened nearly the entire company off of traditional CLP. It would have happened sooner, but Marine Riflemen can be very stubborn. It is the only product we use to clean and lubricate the M240G/B, the M2HB, the M249, M1014 shotgun, M16A4, M4A1, and M9. It excels in the dry dusty climate of Iraq and its dry lubricating properties are widely acclaimed. From September until the end of my career, it will be the only product I use in my weapon systems.

I would check with your unit and see if it would be authorized because I do know a lot of units that allow nothing but CLP or RBC. I am a weapons mechanic currently in Trashcanistan and have seen just about anything you could imagine someone could use to clean their weapon like brake cleaner, shaving cream, transmission fluid (yeah the lubricant that's made for TRUCKS), and some other crazy stuff. I don't care what people use as long as it's a product made strictly for the purpose of cleaning weapons. I have a parts washer in my shop that has RBC (Rifle Bore Cleaner) in it and it's worked great for the past 11 months. I just remove all the plastic and buffer and dip it in there. Make sure you remove all optics and electronics also. I personally don't like CLP, it just seems like watered down oil to me and it doesn't clean very well either.

To touch on the above post, I remember my dad talking about the Army always telling them never to use Carb/Break cleaner on their firearms, EVER. Or ANYTHING for that matter, except their issued cleaner.

Well, they started running low on their issued cleaner... So they were issued carb cleaner to clean their weapons by the exact same people who said never ever use carb cleaner on a gun.

To actually be on topic, I've really been wanting to try Gunzilla, with the way everyone talks about it. It's priced great, free shipping, and if it's all it's cracked up to be, it's a damned panacea.
