So i got the Burris AR-332 scope that i ordered and it looks great! i love everything about it..........Except.....................there is a smudge on the inside of the scope. It looks like it is on the same plane as the reticle. in the upper left hand corner , about 10 oclock. !!!! after all the reviews i read about the reticle being canted and the mount being of inferior quality, that stuff was all fine, but theres this dang smudge on the inside of the scope!! This particular optic has all of the features that i want, (basically an ACOG for 1/3 of the price, still $300) and i really want it but Cabelas said to get a return i have to mail it in and wait three to four weeks to get a replacement, im going to call Burris tomorrow and see if they will do anything for me in a shorter time frame.
I really havent been able to find anything in the same class ( features) as the AR-332 for the same price.
if anyone has any suggestions of similar optics please let me know. the glass on the scope is good besides the smudge and the reticle is sharp, looks great, perfect magnification for me, and it just fits my needs(wants) perfectly.
So, sorry for the rant there but i think that i needed to vent alittle.
If anyone wants to see pictures let me know and ill post some.

MosinRuger, between Burris and Cabela's they should be able to make you happy. Let me know how it works out as I had been researching it also. (left my comment on your earlier post about it) I would appreciate some 1st hand feedback on it when you get this issue resolved and have the opportunity to 'road test' it thoroughly.
Thanks Chazam, I really hope it works out too. I want this to be a good optic because I really do like it. Most of Burris's scope's are much more expensive and generally regarded as good quality so i thought this one would be too. I will definitely keep you posted on the progress.
3 or 4 weeks seems like a long time if you're waiting for something you already bought, but it really isn't too much. I would send it Burris if possible. They are likely to send you a new scope plus some kind of gift to make you feel better about them.
I once shot the crosshairs loose in a Bushnell Phantom with some really hot .357 loads. I sent it in to Bushnell and asked to fix it and bill me. They sent me a new Magnum Phantom, no cost and they paid shipping. I would be very surprized if Burris didn't take care of you in like manner. A smudge on the inside should have been caught during inspection before final packaging. They need to verify the problem and probably will chew on someone's ear pretty hard for missing it, but you'll be happy to have worked with them.

Have you mounted it to your AR yet? I'm really curious to see how it lines up with the front sight post on a flat top AR. I'd love to get one at some point, but I'm hesitant since the front sight post might get in the way of the optic.

Yeah I mounted it and took it shooting yesterday. The front sight post is lightly visible but its just under the reticle and just a slight blur. It doesnt bother me at all.
So here is my take on the reticle... I read all the reviews about it being canted. Well i think that it is actually straight and it just looks like that because when you look through it your head is actually tilted. Mine looks perfectly straight. The reticle is really nice once you get used to it although they could have made it just a smidge bigger. I only got to shoot out to 100yards but it shot really well. Id say about 1 inch at 50 and 2-3 at 100yrds. but i was using some cheap ammo. The reticle is also really nice in that it can be either black(power off), or green or red, and with the lighted setting it can be made bright enough to work in sun, or light enough to work in low light. Scope mount stayed solid.

Just an update on the scope. I finally got one back from Burris. I've been using it for a while now its holding up well. I dropped it on concrete once and only got a scratch on the mount. zero'd it one the first range trip and its been on ever since. And clean glass!

This is actually the first time I've ever heard of someone having a problem with Burris, so I was kind of surprised at the first post. I think it probably was just a fluke, glad you like the new one though!
