Question S&w m&p?

I'm looking to buy my first AR. Was seriously interested in the Ruger SR-556. But after going to the gunshop, fondleing a few others, and checking a few prices. I'm now very interested in the S&W's. So I'm going to u guys. What are your thoughts on the M&P's? What kinda groups and performance are you guys seeing/getting out of them?

I guess I should also let u guys know what I'm wanting: mainly just a fun gun, but I'd like good accuracy (1" or less at 100yards) so I can use it for varmint hunting (coyote/fox) too. I plan to put a 3-9x40 scope on it. but may also pick up a laser and or red dot/holograph sight too for fun at the range,

My uncle has one and I can't see where it's better than any other M4 style AR15. It's a good rifle, just nothing special about it.

Does it fill your need, absolutely. Are they fun guns...absolutely...if you can keep the ammo flying...no doubt. They come with a great name behind them, and if you aren't looking to build your own AR...a great solution. Well worth the money!
