Might be a little top heavy if you've got a collapsible stock compared to a standard stock. However, unless you've got 12" arms, I don't think you'll have a problem.

Bull barrels are really heavy and normally just used for targets and varmints. They are lopsided, but if that is what you want go for it. I put my upper together from scratch, but it was hard and I had been working on ARs for about a year before I built it.

As I said, unless you've got some experience in this stuff, just buy a complete upper. If you make a mistake you are putting your gun and your life at risk.

I am going to buy a complete Upper and Lower and just smack em together so to speak. I have been looking at Gun broker to get an idea for an upper price. Are they pretty close to what they are going for in the real world? Any good sites to find an upper? Gonna check at the gun show, what should I be looking to spend on my upper about 500 for a good chromed upper?

Go to Del-ton and Eagle Firearms.net. Also check out Rainier Arms and Bravo Company.

Check to see if that complete Stag lower has a Stag stock on it. If so, it should be mil spec, meaning it's got the mil spec tube(not the commercial one), if you ever replace the stock, just remember that.

i put a link to the one i am thinking about gettinga few post up. they allow you to pick grip and stock. i choose a gree pistol grip and just a regular collapseable stock. they have the magpull but it is kind of high dollar. I emailed de ton like three days ago and still no aswer i may not be doing business with them after all. thanks again.
well i gave del ton a call nice lady said they were backed up answered all my questions. Now i know i've asked alot but this thread has alot of good information for the first time builder. So here is another.
the Stag lower has Dpms internals, so why not get a cheaper dpms lower? are the stags made a bit better? i have to ask because i find it odd they would have their own receiver and use another companys internals. Is that just what delton puts in them?

I've dealt with Del-Ton a few times, they, everytime I called, had great customer service. And honestly, I would get a stripped Stag lower and order a RRA lower parts kit. I love RRA, compared to my brother-in-laws Bushmaster and complete Double Star lower, the trigger is way better. Stag and RRA make about the best single stage triggers you can buy.

Well they have the option from del-ton it says,
"lower parts kit with RRA 2 stage trigger" 80.00

That is what I was thinking about adding so that would put it at about 280.00 including the FFL transfer.

Depends, do you want a two stage trigger? I mean, DPMS makes good stuff, I just love RRA lower parts kits and M16 bolts. Just by the Stag complete. It's a good price and you'll be happy with it. Unless you want to put your own together that is.

In all honesty I don't know a lot about a two stage trigger. Someone in a post above mentioned they are nice. Would "lower parts kit with RRA trigger mean just a trigger by RRA or the entire lower is RRA parts? Whenever you guys get tired of answering my questions just let me know.
