Thumbs up

My retired sister and brother-in-law lives in Hot Springs Village near Lake Balboa. That's definitely beautiful country.

Welcome to the site. I used to frequent Cooper's gun shop in Fort Smith and Tackle Box to a lesser extent.

I actually just moved here at the begining of January from New Jersey and I love it here. As for Coopers I actually bought a Taurus Millenium PT140 there on Wednesday and The Tackle Box is definatly a nice store too
here is the .40

would you happen to know of any pistol ranges in this area I could go shoot at?

Very nice Taurus you have there, looks like a nice carry/home defense piece.

The only range I know of in that area is the Old Fort Gun Club. I really don't know much in the way of details/info about them except they are affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Which means with membership and participation in matches you can purchase an M1 Garand or M1 carbine or other select military surplus firearms.

Glad to hear you like the new surroundings it must seem pretty quiet compared to New Jersey.

Yea it is going to be my Carry weapon

it actually is a little more city than I am used too lol I lived up in the woods of Northwestern NJ but I like it here alot more the people are ALOT nicer and my job although I still work for the same company doing the same job is alot easier here than it was back in NJ.

I looked into Old Fort I may go check it out in person I saw they have a practical shooting course/range and that interests me plus they have SASS shoots which is another thing I was looking at getting into

I forgot about the SASS matches, seems like they have really expanded the club out there.

Being an old country hick I never think about places like N.J. having woods and rural areas. I immediately think of a big city urban metropolis whenever I hear someone speak of the Eastern states.

Oh believe me NJ is VERY crowded compared to here I was just lucky enough to live in an area that wasnt so bad. My wife is from Mountain Home and when she moved out to NJ with me she couldnt believe it either but like she said NJ was ok but it wasnt Arkansas and after living here only a month I now know why I will never go back east except to visit family I am pretty sure I can take it there for a few days at a time lol
