Beretta 92 ... question.

I just posted this on the other side but I thought I'd
run it by some of you guys on this side, too.

A few friends and I were out the other day and I had
inadvertently brought along a long vaulted Beretta '92
(9mm) that I had picked up long ago and had almost
forgotten about. I think it was in '75.

Immediately, there was great interest in the 'strange
location' of the of the mag release. Then everyone
noticed the safety on the frame. They said it was not
like any 92S they had ever seen.

I said, it wasn't - it was a '92. An Italian '92 - pre'92S.

One of the fellas called me later and said I had
something fairly special in that only 5000 were
ever imported to the U.S.

I tried checking around on the auction sites to see if
I could find one/current value of mine. No luck.

Anyone out there have an idea of it's value?
