| Questions about Berreta 84FS Cheetah Hey, I'm new to pistols and recently purchased a Berreta 380ACP for CC. 2 questions.1) It has a 10 shot magazine and holds one in the chamber. The way that I have been loading it is to insert magazine, close the slide than remove the magazine and insert one more round. Is this the way to load to full capacity? ( I am only familiar with revolvers) 2) Can hollowpoints be used in this weapon as I have heard that some pistols can jam when using hollowpoints. Any info about this pistol such as ammo, holsters, pros/cons would be appreciated. Thanks! |

| If you think that you need 11 shots, thats the way to do it. I recommend that you buy an extra magazine. As for hollowpoints...you need to try them in your gun. Beretta has a good reputation for reliability. I have the .25 auto and it has fed everything that I have put in it. As far as holsters...do a google search and see what you come up with. There are a lot of factories producing great holsters. One thing that I do for CC is to have an extra box of cartridges in my car. These can be ball, something inexpensive that you have used in your gun and know works. Tape the ends shut with masking tape. This keeps the box from coming open by accident, but is easy to get open. The reason is in case you would ever have to bail out of your car. I have read a few accounts of people being forced to stop on back roads at night by makeshift roadblocks.

| I have the 84f which is similar to your pistol and it handles hollowpoints effortlessly. They are a very nice gun. The only complaint I have is the grip is thicker than I would like and it can bulge when you are carrying concealed. If I were you just to be sure, buy a box of hollowpoints and try them out. My preferred hollowpoint is the winchester silvertip. |
