My Bersa's Been Repainted

She's got a date to get this paint redone with Duracoat because right now it is just spray paint. Originally a duo-tone, now tan and OD green. Gun is out of commission until Duracoated:

Uh....OK. I have one in duotone myself and think that it was gorgeous as it was. To each his own.

It was until the finish started to rub. It actually started to fade and turn a purplish color. Got pretty ugly.

Interesting. I have not seen that with mine. I will keep an eye out for that.

I'm thinking it might be the ankle holster I carry it in. I know I lost the rear sight as well while carrying it, although not sure how. But I was real let down by the original finish. This gun is only a year and half old.

I had a Duotone a few years back and it had the same issue with the finish. It just didn't hold up. I bought it used never checked to see how old it was. I think about 3 years old at the time. I ended up taking it apart and polishing the slide until it looked like a mirror. It was not easy and I had some help from a special machine at my friends machine shop. Only trouble I had after that was keeping people from drooling on the finish LOL. I think the colors you picked make it unique and since it's not really a collectors item or anything I would say whatever floats you boat is cool!

I think it looks pretty good. You might want to take a look at some of the bake-on teflon finishes from Brownells - World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools . Given the popularity of these, I've considered building grips for them but the 1911's and PA-63's are keeping me covered up as it is.

That Bersa is a goodlooking pistol and I'm eager to see the final finish.
I'm tinkering with the thought of haveing my CZ 82 done that way...A.H

Doing anything to a gun is hard for me. This poor little thing almost got traded away last year for a Mike Franklin custom knife (Mr. Franklin actually wanted the gun). But I felt like I was ripping him off because the knife was worth about $150 more than the gun so it didn't go down. However, painting this one seemed alright. I've wanted to do something like this to one of my guns, but I can't imagine doing it to any of the others.
