Bersa Thunder 9

Picked up a thunder 9 this gun will match up to any 9 out there. First time to the range and 200 rounds perfect and accurate.
I would recommend them to anyone the price has to go up on these beauties.

I have the Bersa UC9 (compact model) and it is a great little handgun. It has been my primary carry at times and is still in my carry rotation.

I've had a few relatively minor issues, and these were fixed under warranty. My experience is that Bersa stands behind their products with great warranty coverage - lifetime warranty to original purchaser!

When I sent mine back for warranty work, all I had to pay was shipping and handling to get it to the warranty center in Colorado.

What were the issues you ask?

1. slide didn't always lock back after last round was fired
2. front sight loosened up a little after about 500 rounds

Still a very reliable firearm - neither of these issues would have cost me my life if I were in a SD situation - and one of my personal favorites.

Are the Thunder 380 or the 9mm, straight "blow back" ? Is the "9" Locked Breech?

was just eyeballing the thunder online yesterday. Looks like a real nice pistol, just wanna hold it, and see how it fits in my hand

The Bersa .380 models are all 'blowback fixed barrel' design. I assume the .22 caliber models are fixed barrel, too.

The 9mm and other calibers larger than .380auto are all locked breech, moving (removable) barrel.

Check one out if you can at the LGS or a gun show. I don't think you will be disappointed!

This is my favorite pistol. After comparing the Thunder 9mm to other very expensive and "high end" hand guns, The Thunder 9 won hands down. This pistol is light weight, accurate and fits very comfortably in the hand. I recommend this pistol highly and agree that the price on these is bound to go up. I shot 200 rounds today without one problem, just wipe it down with some light oil after every use and it's good to go.

Silly question. If I remember correctly, the Bersa Thunder .380 ACP is a Walther PP with an Argenitinian accent. Is the UC9 the one with more or less M1911A1 controls (except what would be the slide safety on a ,45 is a decocker on the UC9), a lever that permits the slide, barrel and recoil springs to be removed, and a very curious arrangement of one fine spring on the guide rod with a larger recoil spring the rod and smaller spring fit into? And a 10-round double-stack magazine?

Red.. It is a common misconception that the Bersa 380s are clones or licensed copies of the Walther 380. But they are not. No one is sure when where how or why that rumour was started but they do not now or have ever had anything to do with the PPK or the Walther licensed designs.

Blue. I would say closer to a cross between Sig and Beretta controls.
The safety on the Bersa 9,40,45 is the same as the safety on my Beretta, where as the slide lock open, and disassembly of the Bersa is the same as my Astra A100 which is a clone of the Sig220.
