Question Bersa Thunder 9 UC Slide issue

I bought my Bersa Thunder 9 UC a few weeks ago and really love it. I have put about 300 rounds thru it at the range and a police course with a friend. But now on 1 of the 2 clips it came with, the slide will not lock open when the clip is empty. My police friend looked at both clips and he thinks that if I take a punch and tap the slide release tab one time to raise it up a little it should keep this from happening again.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Or is it better to just buy another clip?

Thanks,
Al

My Bersas have always been very fussy about only working with
factory mags. Are both of yours factory? They will be stamped something
like Bersa Argentina. If they only say Bersa, they are probably not factory.

Your friend is right. That would adjust it to push up a bit better.
If it doesn't work, just use that mag as your back-up mag. Factory Bersa
mags are expensive compared to many others.

Welcome to the furm, thunder.

Your police friend is correct, I think. I have a related problem with the magazines for my FEG Model AP-MPB (aka the AP-7 and a pile of other names). I have one that I use as the primary that falls free when you press the magazine release. All the rest perform as designed and only drop one inch when the mag release is pressed, and must be manually extracted. It has to do with the tab on it. When they hit the 'sweet spot' in the words of Magnus, the owner of Centerfire Systems - he owns one as well and has experienced the same phenomenon - they'll drop free. Adjusting a tab on a magazine, though, is best left to someone who really knows the gun. Maybe your police friend can take a swing at it for you?

Thunderjohn, both mags came with the gun in the sealed box, so I have to assume (hate that word) that they are 100% Bersa and not a knock-off. As the gun is at home in the safe, I can't llok until this evening.

Cyrano, I will give the mag and gun to my police buddy and let him take it to the Dept's gunsmith. Supposedly, he is an old sniper that has built many a gun for things I really can't (and don't want to) imagine. Maybe he will have a solution for this.

Thanks for the quick responses. And heres hoping they all stay in the 10 ring.

I would assume they are both factory as well then.
They have a lifetime warranty to the original owner. Here's a link that Cyrano had posted a couple months back with repair center info.

Before trying to make adjustments to your gun that may void the warranty try Colorado Gun Works.

Colorado Gun Works: Home
They are a warranty shop for Bersa/Firestorm firearms.

Please write or type a letter explaining the problem. Make sure to include a physical address and phone number. Dis-assemble the firearm like you were going to clean it. Wrap the parts separately to prevent damage in shipping, and place them all in one box.
Address the box to:
CGW
2631 W. Vine Drive
Ft. Collins, CO 80521

This prevents the word gun from being on the outside of the box and inviting unwanted attention. Take it to UPS or FED EX and ship it as PARTS! This will save you money, and is in no way a violation of any law. Shipping handguns overnight is a company policy to make it tougher and more expensive for you and it is not fair. Use our directions and you will save money and time.
If you have any further questions regarding shipping your firearm in for warranty repair, call (970)482-4867 and talk to Royce.
