While my Bersa 45 Thunder UC is in the shop being fixed I wanted a few questions answered as to it barrel and usage with lead bullets. The bore appeared to me to be polygonal rifled. I shot some 185 target factory loads and noted that there was leading in the bore...I cleaned it out. I have sent an email to Bersa in Argentina and in NJ; have yet to get an answer as to if the bore is polygonal and if it is...is it OK to shoot lead in it...My GLOCK says No, My CZ says No... They seem to be avoiding the answer.

Polygonal bores tend to lead up and this can cause pressure spikes which cause ka-booms. I would not shoot lead thru it but if you do check and clean very often.

This is who you need to talk to, and use the PHONE, not email. Drives me crazy how everybody today relies on email, and expects immediate answers. Ya wanna know something, CALL 'EM! Colorado Gun Works: Home
