I have used 2 different bulelts in the past that work well, one is the speer 180 gr flat point and the other is a hornady 180 gr XTP, both do really well but the speer carries better over distance. BTW my all time 2 favorite powders in the 35 Rem are H-322 & Reloader 7

I loaded up some 200gr of the FTX with the lever evolution powders
But with only a few hunting trips I was not impressed with bullet.
What are some other good bullets you guys have tried
What do you mean when you say you are not 'impressed'?
Is there a problem with the interior/exterior/or terminal ballistics???
I load only the 220 gr Sierra bullet. I use it for hog hunting.

the first deer i shot was at 50 yards broad side hit in the front shoulder tracked her for 3/4of a mile and watched someone else kill her.
second deer i shot was 50-60 yards broad side hit right behind the right front shouder and watched her bolt about 80 yards with no blood trail, to be shot by and killed by my brother.luckly i was able to tag this deer.

My grandfather swears by that 180 gr Speer bullet, I have watched him drop more deer with that caliber and combo than I have shot deer in most of my hunting career. if he doesnt have that round available he always goes and buys the core lokt ammo at walmart, it isnt fancy and super fast but it blows a big azz hole!

In our camp .270's or .30-'06's have ruled for decades, and the two .35 Remingtons are the butt of many good-natured jokes, for ex.: "the .35 won't hardly make a splash in a pond" or "found the bullet right against the hide...on the entry side". Seriously, it's dropped many a deer in their tracks and it's a dandy brush gun.
cabinnut
thats why i bought it there are a couple places that i hunt were its pretty think and we have to crawl when we do drives. and i could understand it both of these shots had happened there but they happened in open wood .

im also wondering if i might have them running to fast or too slow and the just not doing what they were susposed to do

I use Hornady 180 grain SST's in my .30-06. shot a big 8 point in the neck 3 yrs ago at 80 yards and piled his ass right where he stood. same on a doe last year, only I hit her in the heart. piled her too, neither deer took one step. I lung shot another doe also last year on the same day she went 10 feet and dropped. the lungs where liquified. isn't the SST the same as the LeverEvolution?
BTW, Pics....
I am the fat dude, thats my buck , man I have lost weight since then!

either your scope needs checked or them deer were wearing body armor.
at those distances I can use a cast lead bullet and devistate them. even broadside with a double lung shot, and not hitting a rib bone, which means zero expansion, they are not going very far at all.

i agree bad shots are one thing but i never considered a boiler room a bad place to shoot a whitetail.
ill admit im no sniper but im a pretty decent shot out to a few 100 yards

You are positive, I assume, that it was the 'front' shoulder....
