| Senior Member | It Begins!! OOHHH! Yeah, I saw the first big Red deer stag for the season yesterday! made me go all tingly :assult: One 11 pointer and one 8, nothing flash, but because the season has been so hot and dry I was wondering if I would see any at all, They havn't started to roar yet, I'm hoping during this week they'll start. My dad has just bought a Parker Hale .270 and I want to get him a good stag for easter. I'll be packing the old .303, but I'm not out for a trophy this year, I got a good one last season, and if I bring home to much more dead stuff to hang of the walls, I might end up stuffed and hanging up there too ![]()

| Senior Member | Welp, Easter is over (almost) No deer, sore legs and scratches all over my face and arms. I had a great time. Maybe next weekend or the one after that.

| Senior Member | Yeah, I reckon hunting deer is just an excuse for a good bush walk without looking like tree hugger, if you get something it's an added bonus

| Senior Member | saturday morning, just got back from another bush walk, they where roaring like crazy, I succeded in calling one up to me, he came up to about 200 yards away, then the wind changed and I couldn't get any closer without going down wind of him so had to double back and come at him from a different direction, this took about 20 minutes, we where calling back and forth the whole time. Anyway when I get around to him again I couldn't see him, could hear him no more tham 70-80 yards away, so I snuck up a bit more, the !!!!!!! was laying down! and he saw me first, as he jumped up I saw he was deformed and only had 4 points despite being quite and old stag, so I tried a snap shot just to cull him out, but missed. Oh well theres always sunday.

| Senior Member | Nah mate, I'm flat out getting my dad allowed to shoot on this place, the boss is very protective of his deer.
