Not so funny, really. Gall Bladders can be worth many hundreds or even thousands of dollars to a Japanese person. Not really good to be a Bear if everyone wants to shoot you for your Gall Bladder. We had a BIG bust here several years back and they were responsible for over 700 Bear kill per year. They were linked tot he Berskshire Bunch. I have also known people who poached for the purpose of selling to Resturants or to people who said they were up here hunting and they needed evidence to bring back to their wives. The laws are used to bust the people who don't go in with GOOD INTENT. Now how about NO ARTIFICIAL LIGHT is to be shined on a Deer? I wanted to take a picture of this Enormous Buck and I was almost given a ticket for using my Auto Headlights. I had made a turn around when I saw the Buck and was NOT searching for the Deer with my lights. I happen to have the camera with me. I didn't have a firearm of any sort with me. I had just seen him ion the field when I turned around. when did it become ILLEGAL to shoot a sawdust filled Buck????? | |

Here's one for you, If you run down a wild turkey and kill him with a knife in south dakota. They will try you for poaching, even though it was so awesome. Luckily, i played the self defense card. They let me keep my bowie.

Well about 6-7 years ago in Manitoba you could only hunt what were considered non-game animals, rabbits, etc. on Sundays. (there were always a few exceptions, remote areas etc) Then a few years ago they opened up hunting on Sunday in all GHA'a for all migratory, upland game birds, and resident wild turkey season. Now they have opened Sunday for big game in several GHA's and the word is in the next few years Sunday hunting will be allowed everywhere in Manitoba for big game. I am lucky to have a job that gives me plenty of time to hunt as I work 4 on 4 off, but I always felt sorry for the guys that only got to hunt on Saturdays unless they used vacation time. Now that they have expanded deer season to three weeks and opened up areas to Sunday hunting that will give these fellas six days to hunt. So I think things are actually looking up here in Manitoba for hunters.

For those of you who would like to view a lot of restrictions on hunting, Just read California Department of Fish and Game Hunting Regulations.

I understand the no hunting on Sundays law, it's no fun listening to a barrage outside when you have a quiet prayer in church, and our church sits near enough to good deer habitat that we have to deal with it.

Canadian "blue laws" prohibited you from going to the show in Ontario on sundays back in the 50's. I can remember the cops coming out to our house because my dad was target shooting on sunday in the 40's in Ontario. In Oklahoma, we have a crow season, no limit but you can't use anything larger than a 10 ga. We also can't use "sight dogs" for coyotes. No sure what that means, I guess if your dog can see you can't use them. In Oklahoma you can't use any shotgun loaded with shot larger than BB for anything but migratory birds, slugs are fine. Large capacity magazines are permitted for deer as long as the caliber is greater than 22.

When I lived in Ontario, I bought a pistol. I had to take paper work to the police station where I got a permit to take it from the dealer to the police. The police, after inspecting it, then gave me a permit to take it home. I could not take it outside to shoot it. If I wanted to take it to a range, I had to repeat the whole process. Warning!!!! Do not ever take a pistol to Canada, you could wind up in jail. They don't like pistols there.
