I have hunted deer, hogs and sheep and dont consider any to be dangerous.Hogs get a little hyper if pursued by dogs but are much too busy with the dogs ro be charging you.The most dangerous part is hitting the hog without hitting a dog. When you are ambushing hogs one shot usually does it.If it is long range I would use any flat shooting rifle, preferably not over .243win.At shorter ranges a .22lr on up to the .22 centerfire,s will do it for me.I have made a double lung shot on many hogs under 300lbs with a .22 centerfire under 200yds and seldom had to chase it.For deer, sheep, and goats I prefer from 6mm to .30cal used in their power range. samuel.

7 mm Mag and a decent shot will drop any of these short or long range, You should be more than fine with what you have.

All of above except 223 for Samba personally I use my 6.5 x 55 80gr on the goats and 131gr on everything else but if we are talking minimums then 243 and maximums well there is no max but I supose 308 if you want to take any meat home.

Have taken my 303 out for goats seems to have the legs for it

beening pro hunter & trapper for eight years ive hunted some of the most remote country in Australia and let me tell you that goats and pigs live in the same country side by side be out western nsw, great divide mountain boars from any distance up to 500m 308 is more than enough gun. Even north Queensland cane boars that will reach 220kg ive seen drop like they were struck by the finger of god when hit with 223,243,257 roberts of course shot placement is the key to one shot kill sucsess the best allrouder IMO is 308. Not an animal in this country that you cant kill cleanly with and iam talking pig sorry wild boar, sambar, red, scub bulls, buff bulls, donkey, brumby, camel.then again i would use a 303 with the same results.
hope this helps

Now that's a man! Beaker. Put'in a pic where his keyboard is!

OK tuff4runner, whatca gonna do?
223, be in a tree?
Talk to us son.

The Full MeTal's $.02, shot placement.
Heck, I've stalked rooting pigs at night from down-wind and popped her in the head with .22 LR at 6 feet. About a 50 pounder.
Now that's a cardio workout!
