Any advice on accurately sighting in a shotgun w/a rifled choke? Thanks--RJR

Try several different brands of slugs. go an inch or two high at 80-100 yards. get wallet out and practice alot.

What Jerry said. Also, clean it every 5-10 rounds as the barrel gets filthy quick.

Always shoot it with your hand between the forend and the front rest. If you let the forend rest on the front rest it will shoot 10-12 in. high. The recoil lets it bounce up off of rest, and when you shoot it in the field you'll be a foot low. I don't know how many times I've heard someone say "I don't understand it shot fine off of the bench". So rest the back of your hand, or wrist on the bags, and hold the gun as you would in the field.

I knew there was something I had to do today and that was go buy some slugs.
I don't see any harm in the forearm resting on the rest. I've always heard not to let your barrel rest on the rest...A.H

I just posted on this the other day.I had a man sighting a .20ga in with the forearm on a rest and when I had him put his hand in between he was shooting 8"low.People dont realise what happens but once I was shooting a Ruger .44mag with my hand on a metal temporary rest and some how my little finger got between the rest and the butt. When the gun fired I thought I had crushed my little finger. That gun really slammed down hard. It doesnt make any difference what part of the gun is touching, when it fires it will move away from anything solid.Double barrels move away from the opposite barrel.Thats why they are tapered to look like they would cross. sam.
