Need opinion

My uncle lives in the middle of a city and has a deer problem. There is a huge deer he wants me to take out(at least 13 points). I have to make a head shot because of houses behind him and a park on three sides(the deer cant leave his 2 acre lot so i cant use my bow). will a .22 long rifle or 17 hmr do the trick.

Firing a firearm in the city without special permission wouldnt do it for me as I dont believe I would like being locked up.It is your unkle,s problem, let him get arrested. Most cities have animal control agencies for this very purpose, and they get paid for doing what is illegal for you.I just reread your post.If your unkle owns a two acre lot in the center of a city,he is rich enough to handle his own animal control.I would like to hear from the unkle. sam.

Why can't Animal Control remove the Deer ? My advice is don't take it on yourself because it want be safe because of the location.
Is the Deer someone's pet ?
I'll leave you with this thought. What if you miss, wheres that bullet going to go.
I'm a gun owner and a sportsman please don't make me look bad...A.H

your running up against all kinds of legality issues when considering shooting a deer inside city limits. what your asking about sounds alot like poaching.

After reading other comments on this I've decided to retract any info... I wholeheartedly agree with the consensus on this topic and don't want to contribute any info that may help this unadvised action!

P.S. while I was on the phone everybody already put thier 2 cents in before I hit submit LOL, Samuel and A.H. have words of wisdom!!!

I agree with MOD 70. If the deer are a real issue and he just isn't wanting you to poach one then have him get a dog. I don't get all of these posts lately with people wanting to shoot deer and such with .22 etc. Isn't that illegal in most states? I know it is in Colorado. Makes me feel like I am in a forum with a bunch of poachers.
Just curious also, does anywhere have a deer season going on right now?

I don`t mean to beat-up on anyone but I live on 5 acres and don`t want to play paint-ball here because we might get some in the neighbours yard by accident. Please put all thoughts of discharging ANY kind of firearm in that enviroment out of your head! It would be so wrong,so many ways, that I hope this matter is put to rest.Is anyone as horrified as me!!!!

This whole situation is Reckless and Dangerous. There is five charges I can think of, depending were you live and if you do not hurt anyone.

(Call Animal Control)

Hmmm,I think maybe a sharp knife and fork,a little H.P.sauce and a lot of camo face paint.A flying leap from behind the junipers and the neighbours might not notice.Yummie noises may pose a problem though.

Well put billy! I may be new here and have to figure out who`s who,but not hard to see that this forum has real possibilities for me to interact with some sensible gun lovers with responsible attitudes. This particular thread is rather disturbing to me and I must say to Hamiddy that for you even asking such a thing makes me feel embarrassed for all of us.Please don`t tell anyone you`re a hunter, shooter,or on this forum.

Ditto! Love the quote

Glad to see I'm not the only one bothered by this.

i see a post like this one for example, or one that is suspected of looking to buy a stolen gun and often wonder if they aren't planted here to see just how responsibly we react to it.

I am very glad of the uniform opinion of everyone on here. I'm glad to be on this forum just for that reason. Hammiday, its just a bad idea all around. I am not going to ride you, but think before you act. if it seems like a bad idea then it probably is!

poaching is not condoned(unless its all you have to feed your family), and being stupid and dangerous shooting inside of city limits falls under-IDIOTIC.
