| I've never hunted Grizz, but I've been in Grizz country, and I carried my 700 Remmy in 338Win Mag. And my Blackhawk with some hot 45Colt rounds. |

| Well for sure I would want enough power to give me the pennatration nedded and I think there are a number of rounds out there I would be very comfortable with. I would be more concerned with what I was throwing out there than with what was throwing it. More thought would go into the bullet I chose. I want something designed to take a griz. not drop an antelope at a thousand yards. Just my opinion... |

| Lol, Billy that is about how I feel. If I had to go looking for a grizzly I would carry the heaviest rifle that I could shoot repeatedly and accurately. At my age this would be a 45-70, and not with the monster loads.

| Billy, I'm sure he meant size. Age has little to do with ones ability to handle recoil. I've shot a lot of guns and different calibers. The one that really made me say, "WOW", was a .460 Weatherby Magnum that I shot 10 or so years ago..........4 times! Talking about a round that will back you out from under your ball cap! |

| Nope, Bro. Bob, I meant age. I am 69 and if I have to have so much gun that it is going to tear my arm off I might just as well let the bear do it. 1. I have a lot of faith in the 45-70. 2. Unless the bear is posing a threat to life or property I won't be out hunting him.

| I don't understand the question. The Grizzly is an endangered species and as such you can't hunt for them. (maybe soon in MT) If I were just out hunting and had an encounter of the worst kind, what I had in my hands would have to do. You can bet it wouldn't be a 22 LR though. |

| Purdy: they are NOT endangered and are hunted by residents and non-residents alike here in alaska and canada and russia. |
