As long as your outline is blocked or broken up you can wear anything you want to.
But I do beleive in scent blocker sprays and detergents and will argue all night long that it works.
Also Camo is COOL looking LOL !

where I hunt, it really makes no difference as any shot under 175 yds is extremely rare, but I usually wear Mossy Oak Breakup or Brush just in case I get a chance to stalk closer. BTW, I love beer, but drinking while hunting is F***ing stupid.

I hunt the west coastal blacktail a lot. These things are pretty sharp. I use camo, have gone without it but want everything possible to swing things my way. Very steep and either timbered or brushey terrain. I know deer only see shades of gray, but I swear camo still helps.

i believe in camo and also the scent blocker is just for a extra security i think in my mind because we still always hunt down wind but if somehow your scent travels to it then ur safe our deer are smart and so are the coyotees around here fellas
thanks

The reasons I have camo hunting clothing is:

1) Alaska is usualy cold and wet be it rain and or snow during hunting season. Much of our hunting season is full out winter.

2) Camo clothing is manufactured to meet the needs of a hunter in these conditions by providing warm clothing that breathes away perspiration and dries quickly.

3) It is quiet compared to other clothing manufactured for general outdoor use eventhough it will suit the inclimate weather. When one hunts like I often do,(spot and stalk) making as little noise as possible is key. There are some exceptions.

4) Anti-hunters hate it !

5) Anti-hunters hate it !!

6) It isn't PC !

7) Not being PC is all the reason I need !!!!

8) And I think it looks good

LOL wow. Ok so I am guess I didnt make myself clear within my post (read it again and my bad). Ok so hear goes #2 Where I hunt (very over populated hunting spot) deer are very nervious and are jumpy on anything and everything (like alot of places where people hunt, I know). I know some people hunt in tripods with boxes cover them so ya it is ok to hunt with just blue jeans and t shirts. That is fine. But I like to hunt on the ground with no blind or anthing like that. So sometimes blue jeans and t shirt wouldnt work for me(I have tried it once when I got off work). But the deer are smart so I have to use certian cammo and scent blocker all the time. (not saying that the deer wear cammo and scent blocker, that would suck if they did). All I am sayin is that cammo is my thing! doesnt have to be eveyones.

down here people wear camo all year long so it really doesn't matter what they wear when they go hunting you'll never know .infact the main hunting outfit is a pair of blue jeans and a mossy oak tee-shirt or any other kinda dark tee shirt but it's mainly a camo tee-shirt for sure. and most if not all wear a camo baseball type cap with some type of company logo on the front.

If you have camo, and it is legal to wear it, why not wear it? I have shot the majority of my deer in blaze orange, but I feel I have to "stare down" less deer when I am bow hunting in my camo.

Plus, deer season opens the 2nd week of september. I can hunt for black bear and deer with my bow, at the same time. It works out well.

OPPS... we also have to wear a Blaze Orange vest and caps during Deer Season only.
Bow hunters don't have to where orange during bow season.

Deer do not just see "shades of gray". They can see some color such as yellows and blues. In fact the world appears mostly to them to have a yellow hue to it. The absolute best camo to wear, proven by UG research is blaze orange. Not the solid orange but the black and orange type. The one color to avoid is blue.

How can they tell you ask? By very carefully dissecting deer eyballs and counting rod shape, density and quantities which determine what any animals vision spectrum is.

Most animals see pretty much the same way. Couple of exceptions are of course birds and hogs. Hogs have very different way of seeing colors. They can only distinguish colors when 2 or more colors that contrast are bordering each other with sharp unshaded lines. This is why you see in some hog farms people wearing rainbow colored boots.

I'm not a huge believer in camo either, my dad shoots a deer every year in his blue jeans and flannel shirt and has a TON of old spice poured all over his body! I am an outfitter here in Nebraska, and I had 2 drop dead hot ladies hunting with me last fall, so I'm all for the HUNT NAKED option.
Not to be a downer, but didn't anyone find it a little disturbing that he "has a few beers, then goes hunting"? I like a cold beer just like anyone else, but beer before guns is never a good thing.

It bothers me greatly, I just forgot to mention it in prior post. I NEVER consume alcohol then handle a firearm/shoot/hunt. The beer is for AFTER the guns are stowed.

Thumbs up cammo and suds

sure drinking and firearms are not safe, but in Texas it is part of a deer lease, part of the camp life and Texas has very few hunting accidents overall. I am confident, very safe, if anyone on my lease disagreed with it I wouldn't, but my buddies are beer drinking Bohemians, I have hunted with them for over 25 years, we look at hunting different here in Texas.

For the record I don't drink any kind of Alcohol products, but I use to and a lot of it.
Years ago when I did drank I was in a hunting club that there moto was.............
We kill more Beers than Deers and they did too !!! Those steel beer cans lay all under there Deer stands.
No one is allowed to hunt on our properts if they bring beer along. It is not safe.
Don't get me wrong I don't have any problem at all if someone else drinks, I just don't do it anymore.
But a Bud Lite would be pretty good right now LOL.
